NyZeal brings together Paul Nicholson’s work in human development, leadership and experiential practice with Calum Revfem’s work in sustainability, systems thinking and strategic renewal.
Rooted in Aotearoa New Zealand and working across Scandinavia, we create experiences and relationships that help people and organisations reconnect with what matters and participate more consciously in the systems they are part of.
A friendship shaped in wild places and developed in different directions.
Our friendship began decades ago in the mountains of New Zealand, connected by adventure, curiosity and a shared interest in how people live and work.
Over time, our paths developed differently. Paul’s work moved through adventure, guiding, business, facilitation, leadership and human development. Calum’s work moved through sustainability, systems thinking, management, circular economy and strategic renewal.
Both of our lives also became connected to Scandinavia. Calum is based in Hemsedal, Norway. Paul is based in New Zealand and spends part of each year in Scandinavia.
NyZeal is where those histories meet: New Zealand openness and adventure in conversation with Scandinavian reflection, systems awareness and proximity to nature.
Development begins with attention, not prescription.
We do not believe people or organisations are problems waiting to be fixed by an expert.
We believe meaningful development becomes more possible when people have the conditions to notice what is happening, reflect, see relationships and systems more clearly and recognise meaningful choices.
Principles we try to practise
Attention – What we notice shapes what becomes available to us.
Relationship – People, organisations and living systems are interconnected. How we relate matters.
Choice – Awareness can reveal alternatives, but meaningful choice carries responsibility.
Regeneration – Performance and progress are not sustainable if they continually consume the people and systems they depend upon.
Participation – Development ultimately matters through how we show up, contribute and act.
